Why is digital copy of such a good book so hard to find? I had to buy a used version on amazon but it was worth it. My dad had recently told me about reading this book circa 1983. I had asked him to recommend a book similar to Louis L'amour ' The Walking Drum'. He could remember the title but with a little help from the guys in the group, "What's The Name of That Book???" I found it.
It was definitely similar to the Walking Drum. I loved every minute of it. Morgan is a dashing rogue who is on a a quest to make a name (and fortune) for himself. He ends up being in the service of the US Government and The Turkish Empire. He fights pirates, Rogues and Thieves while wooing some of the most beautiful and interesting women ever written about. Definitely a worthy read.
