“For the love of—” Exasperated, I reach up and grab his cheeks. “Stop being such a gentleman and just kiss me already!”

Maybe Tomorrow is the second in the Marked by His Alpha series by Sophie O'Dare, featuring Herold the omega, the son of a wealthy banker, and Peter, an alpha who works to help omegas from dangerous situations. When Herold is in a dangerous situation, Peter steps in, and so their building romance begins.

Herold and Peter's journey is so good. Herold suffers a lot more, and this book is far angstier than the first one because of it. Herold has to deal with an abusive father, being looked down upon because he is an omega, and his sheltered lifestyle that was purposefully negligent so he had to rely on others. Peter steps in and gives him the tools for his own autonomy, never pushing him to do anything more than he wants to. While this is not a slow burn by any means, their commitment and relationship does come later as we just see these two grow as friends. I marked this as an instalove/instalust book, but it is the sort where the love is still earned, but subconsciously they both knew that they were it for each other.

I don't want to spoil much, but I think this can be a difficult read (mind the content warnings I put above), but it is worth it. I love how Herold learned strength through himself, not that it was Peter being his protector all the time. Herold's gaining of agency, and finding a purpose helping other omegas, was a great arc of character growth for him. I also loved how Peter found some confidence in having what he wants in life too, but ultimately still never pressured Herold and was hesitant because he knew the context they met in. It was treated with such respect, honestly.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this book.
