Love Songs for Skeptics by Christina Pishiris

3.5

quite enjoy reading books starring journalists, and found it particularly interesting to see the beyond the scene of a music magazine publicist! Also quite a nice touch to have the name of the chapters being song titles, creating a playlist in the end!

Simon & Zoë started with an incredible chemistery, and admitedly I really liked Simon.. however It sorta bothered me how he behaved with Jess, sortof shielding her in a way? It’s evident the two of them went through hard times together, but being in the MC shoes, it does send mixed signals. One moment he seemed to be flirting with her, the next he’s overprotecting Jess.. slightly confusing. I also had a hard time deciding if the true love interest in this story was Simon or nick Would I not double check for happy ending, the book almost went flying to the wall at some point.

« But real love- love that inspires you to write songs or stops you from sleeping or makes you risk everything- is either there or is not. »
