Our Time Is Now: Power, Purpose, and the Fight for a Fair America by Stacey Abrams

5.0

This is a tremendously empowering, while also heartbreaking read. Not much has changed since it was written in 2019/2020 and our Democracy has frayed even more since the writing of this book. I'd be interested in an updated edition that addresses January 6th and the aftermath. It felt particularly gut-wrenching to hear her mention Ukraine's precarious situation and the previous administration actively working to weaken the. I read Abrams' book during week 2 of Russia's war on Ukraine, and I can't help but feel pessimistic about that state of Democracy worldwide as this war plays out.
