American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

5.0

Excellent book but would probably not read again. I couldn't help but wonder if Brett was really twisted or if the book was a product of creativity, or if it was a bit of both. Grappling with the question sometimes made it difficult to read, which also oddly made me not want to put the book down. As a book that reflects popular culture, and made you feel wholly uncomfortable the entire time, the book is a success; popular culture is supposed to push the boundaries of comfort, the expected, and the sanitary.

With that being said, the entire chapters devoted to the bands and singers of the 80s were a torture to read!
