This book is like nothing I have ever been lucky enough to read before. It is so many things at once and all of them are so good. I picked this up because the cover looked cool on Libby, started reading it straight away when I saw how interesting the synopsis was, and then simply couldn't put it down. It does one of my favourite things a book like this can do, which is trust it's audience enough to give you only exactly what you need. The dyspotian/futuristic setting serves only the themes and metaphor, it doesn't let itself get bogged down in details that are unessential. It let's the story unfold in its non linear narrative, using time and story to drag the information out of itself, instead of getting worried and telling you too early.
There are just so many things to love about the story it tells and how it tells it. I really really hope more people read this book, and I am sat ready for whatever Allsopp does next.
