unlike previous ali hazelwood stories instead of spending the last 16 hours thinking about how i feel about the book i just finished, whether it be good or bad (except for you tlh you can do no wrong my bbg). i was actually thinking about how much i enjoyed it,,, because i REALLY enjoyed it.

Idk man something about this book was just so fun and likable. and although it’s a romance book I was so much more invested in the main character and her relationships whether it be with chess, or her family, or her friends. i don’t mean it in a negative way either because i just feel like the wasn’t as big of an importance as in usually is in hazelwood’s books… and it felt nice?

My feelings towards this book is something similar (albeit still much more tame in comparison) to that of Book Lovers by E.H. I LOVEDDD the that the book had more of focus of Nora’s life and relationships, because in the end it made her relationship with charlie so much more real ? idk how to explain it but this book was like that for me.

ALSO. idk i really loved the chess aspects of the book despite knowing jack shit about chess, it was so interesting to me like why do i wanna go and become a chess player rn 🤔

ANYWAYS i’ll give it to miss hazelwood she ate this one down ☝️ unfortunately i don’t think ima read her next book Bride, as i am not an omegaverse girlie (although the cover is just so good it slightly pains me to pass), so i probably wont be reviewing another ali book til maybe around this time next year (tho i do plan on rereading tlh soon 😝🤞). until then ppl 🫡
