I have always enjoyed the work of Mr Clements and have read all the Tom Wilde books eager to read the next one.  However, I didn't feel that with this latest addition.  It seemed to take ages to get started with nothing really happening' not ideal for a thriller.  There is a lot of building up  and scene setting.  The weather is a feature of the story but became increasingly tedious with every mention - over done I think, I got it, it was the worst winter, there were shortages, transport problems ' it didn't need to be repeated every page.  I am surprised that Mr Wilde seems to be able to abandon his post at the university for quite long periods of term time and never seems to have to prepare work or mark anything.  No,I didn't enjoy the story as much as the others and hope that the next one is  better
