102 Minutes: The Untold Story of the Fight to Survive Inside the Twin Towers by Kevin Flynn, Jim Dwyer

5.0

This was one of those books you just have to read. I decided to read it because the 10th anniversary is upon us. It was an emotional read. I work in a highrise so it was tough to hear the accounts of the folks trapped above impact with no way of getting down. My heart broke for the Windows of the World folks in their frustrations to get help or even just get to the roof to breathe fresh air. I read this book in one night. It was a very tough read but an interesting perspective on why some people did not get out due to lack of stairwells or terrible communication coming from those in charge of the building. People just didn't know what to do with something so major and unfortunately those that may have been able to get out, went back up to their floors and waited as they were told. It was a heartbreaking read and sometimes gruesome. But I would read it again if given the chance because its the history of our nation and everyone should know what really happened during that awful day. I can't believe its been 10 years already. Seems like yesterday. RIP
