This book was beautifully written, I felt like I was experiencing it myself. It's from the perspective of a combat nurse.  I've walked away with a thorough understanding of how it was in the Vietnam War and then how they were treated when they came back. The MC suffered tremendously, I cried through the whole thing and my heart is broken. I gave 3 stars only because this is not the typical read. I'm deeply empathetic and I feel the same feelings as the characters, so this book tore me up.
