Absolutely stunning. At first, I was angry that there was no definitive ending- that we did not jump forward a century and discover that the martyrs were remembered and that their story is revered and studied. However, I feel that this now goes against the story that was told- the continuing fight against colonialism and imperialism, through the use of language, is a struggle still felt and experienced today across the world. Overall, an extremely, poignant novel about the use of language as power, one which I would recommend anyone to read.
