This Secret Thing popped up on Kindle Unlimited and was highly rated, so I gave it a go. It follows Violet, the daughter of Nora who is arrested & accused of running a suburban sex ring. We also hear the perspective of Bess, a neighbor & friend of Nora's, Polly, Nora's estranged mother who comes to town to take care of Violet, and Nico, the detective on the case.
The reader of the audiobook was great & I enjoyed the experience overall, but felt like there were a few too many elements in this book that then had to be shoved together at the end. There were so many storylines & secrets I'd forgotten about some of them by the end, and was only reminded when they popped back in to be wrapped up. But because of that there were certainly things I didn't guess, and I didn't fully guess the central mystery.
