I have mixed feelings. The overall story wasn't bad, but to me, it lacked depth and failed to engage me in the story. You really only get insight into Kierse. All the other characters didn't feel fully developed. The side characters felt pointless to the story (Torra being the main one) and didn't lead much to character growth. I was hoping for more from Graves. I didn't mind the mysteriousness of him in the beginning, but by 3/4 of the way in, there was minimal depth to him. This made his character feel lacking, especially when they both get involved. There is a claim of feelings and something more, but it didn't come across that way, which left the whole interaction (relationship?) lacking. I also felt the repetitiveness of how the war started, along with the useless information (such as the trains she took to where/among others) felt pointless and distracting.
