This is one of those feel good, easy reads with plenty of heat and very little angst.
I love, love, love Reed and his straightforward approach with his feelings for Jaycee. He was persistent but not pushy, and he was so in tune with Jaycee's feelings that it was almost like he could read her mind. The way he treated Jon an Bitsy from the very beginning was sweet and completely swoonworthy. I think that Reed alone earned this book 4 stars.
Jaycee was the perfect strong, yet vulnerable character and the way she took care of Jon and Bitsy was the definition of unselfish. I was happy to see someone step up to help her put herself above everybody else for once. Even though she doubted herself she always did what she thought would be good for her brother and sister.
Their love story is simple and sweet and I kind of didn't want it to end.
I need to talk about Jon for a second. I'm kind of hoping that someday we might get his story. I can't believe this guy was only 15 years old. He was mature far beyond his years.
This is definitely a story I'll be reading again.
