So I finally bought into the hype, and honestly I'm glad I did. I know my rating doesn't look like it but I did think this was quite a fun read. I definitely get all the fall cozy vibes, that this book gets so much hype for. I know it is cliched to say but I would definitely say that if you love Gilmore Girls you'll also get a kick out of this.
It's everything you want out of a small town romance. I absolutely adored the community in this book. This town felt like one big family in a way, and it just felt all nice and cozy to read. There were also some really fun characters in this town, and I already can't wait to continue on with this series to see more of them. All the little fall festivities were also so much fun. I truly can't wait to explore of this town in future books.
I also really loved Jeanie. I thought she was a really fun main character, and her quickness made for such a compelling read. I loved how easily she fit into this town, and even though her personal storyline is a bit cliched I would say it was still really well executed. I absolutely despised Logan though. His victim complex was absolutely MASSIVE, and made him unbearable to read about. He was just the definition of a trash human to me. I thought he did Jeanie so dirty in the end, and therefore I had such a difficult time rooting for them to get together. Especially because he doesn't even really atone for his actions. He just kind of blames it all on his ex, who did absolutely nothing wrong by the way. He is my main reason for my shite rating because he made reading this book slightly unbearable.
That all being said though, this book never was anything too special, so don't go in expecting that. It's just a really quick, fun, and cozy read. A nice palet cleanser with sadly a bit too much insta-love for my tastes.
