Harper and Declan’s story is funny, refreshing and heartwarming. Both have been attracted to the other for years, but so much has stood in the way of a relationship between them, not the least of which is his brother dating her instead and Declan’s service in the Marines. Now, Declan has left the Marines and returning to Moose Village where he will be joining the local police force and, hopefully, finally dating his dream girl, Harper, now that he hears she is no longer dating his brother. Discovering Harper is back with brother is disheartening until Declan realizes that Harper does look happy about it and his brother is eying someone else. Does Declan the woman of his dreams? He certainly does, and their story is filled with lots of funny moments that had me laughing out loud, moments that made me sigh as well as moments that made me tear up and reach for a tissue.
Besides sorting out the fake dating arrangement, Harper and Declan have to deal with his mama’s boy brother, his controlling and over protective mama, bickering friends and lots of gossip. Life in a small town may be a little slower, but it is rarely dull, at least not behind closed doors,(wink, wink). I will happily recommend this harming book.
