I absolutely ADORED this book, it has everything a good Romantasy story is supposed to have: Brilliant worldbuilding, a unique concept of magic, a rich political backstory, in-depth-characters & (last but not least!) a slow-burn love story full of sapphic yearning, all written in beautiful poetic prose. The story is carried by multiple perspectives alternating between chapters, so we get a glimpse into many different characters (with Priya & Malini being the most frequent ones). I also like how the characters represent different ways of undermining power and building resilience (Bhumika <3).
It‘s not a 5-star-read for me because the pace was a little bit too slow at times, therefore it also took me quite a while to finish the book (~7 weeks with reading other books inbetween).
I’m so much looking forward to reading part 2 & 3 <3
