Will gladly concede I have been played by this book. Have always loved magpies - their innate mischievousness, stately posture and beautiful song - so beguiling. The narrative a wonderful blend of humour and never overdone pathos pulls the heartstrings just so. Beautiful strong family and characteristically enchanting bird presented in coffee table book format with resplendent photography makes for an absolute winner. Will buy this one and dip into again and again.
