It’s been a while since I read one of Juliet Marillier’s books and I always enjoy them. My main criticism, as usual, is that she doesn’t write male characters very well (they’re either jerks or wimps, nothing in between). Plus, after you’ve read a few of them, the plots are a bit too predictable. Even so, it was a nice little fairy tale to while away a lazy day. The sequel is queued up on my Kindle.
