As one of the four owners of the Salacious Players’ Club, Garrett is comfortable on the sidelines—a voyeur who likes to watch, and who works better alone. That is, until the day he stumbles upon a certain camgirl app. He can’t look away, even knowing he’s watching the one person he should never have watched: his step-sister. Garrett knows he’s asking for trouble, because even though he can’t stand her, he’s hooked. Mia has him wanting and doing things he said he’d never do again, like being vulnerable and getting attached. But whilst he falls for her, she’s falling for the mystery man he’s pretending to be.
This one was a step back from the quality that I found in Praise. It lacked the emotional depth, the narrative wasn’t as engaging, and both Mia and Garrett were, frankly, annoying. At times spicy, and with good chemistry, but annoying. However, whilst their growth both individually and romantically didn’t hit as hard or as well as other stories I’ve read recently, there was enough to allow the story to finish strong.
