Dirty Silver by Cassie-Ann L. Miller

4.0

In some ways this wasn't as light-hearted as most of the Dirty Suburbs books. It dealt with a few 'difficult' topics and whilst this wasn't a dark or heavy read it wasn't as much of a rom-com either. BUT IT IS STILL WONDERFUL, AMAZING AND SUPER HOT!!!!!

Possible spoiler ahead but you know from the blurb Raph bids on Eva at a 'sex auction'.
SpoilerI didn't get why this situation kept being referred to as sex trafficking. Eva willingly took part in the auction and whilst it could be classed as prostitution and pimping, it wasn't sex trafficking!

I loved Eva, she was so strong and determined on the outside, but this was just a brittle shell covering an inside so full of self-doubt and lack of worth. She had me alternately offering a mental high five at her determination to get what she wanted (mainly Raph) and wanting to hug and reassure her.

They see me as wild, confident, outgoing, free-spirited. That's the facade I've shown the world for all of my life. The truth is, I've always felt so out of control...Once you get used to being a disappointment in your parents' eyes, you stop measuring each of your decisions in terms of how they will react.

Raph filled those gaps in Eva and made her feel like she could be a success. He is such a caring, wonderful and very moral man and even when he was making stupid decisions it was always with the best of intentions.

As much as I love her parents, I'm pissed at them for not making sure that she knows just how wonderful she is.

I totally bought into Raph and Eva's story, both in their deep emotional connection and their insanely hot chemistry. The book had me gripped, with it's incredible writing, well paced story, interesting and rounded characters and passion. I loved how Raph's meeting with Daniel explained an occurrence in another Suburbs book. In fact this book felt like it was tying more of the previous books and their characters together.
