Case Closed, Vol. 8 by Gosho Aoyama

4.0

The Night Baron case was a fun time. I’m always a fan of when clues seem like they’re leading up to one person and then it turns out to be the person you least expected. This case definitely gave me that.

I also enjoyed the poison bride case. It wasn’t as fun as Night Baron but it was interesting and had me thinking twice on who the killer could be. I had a lot of sad emotions to deal with after reading this one and I was so surprised with how the bride and groom’s story ended. Really was not expecting it.

Overall, a good volume. I like the romantic theme that was present in both the Night Baron case and the poisoned bride. The couples in both were hit with betrayals yet still found a way to  love one another. Its moving and I’m curious if the struggles and love of these couples may mirror  Shinichi and Ran’s relationship in the future? Probably reading too much into it but we’ll see…
