Thieves' Gambit
by Kayvion Lewis
Highly improbable but fun with teen thieves competing in a high stakes competition to determine the most accomplished thief in the world. The winner takes home a lucrative employment contract and the wish of a lifetime. These young thieves have been trained all of their young lives to pull off outrageous heists all while avoiding detection and concocting devious plans well beyond their years. Cross James Bond with Oceans Eleven and make them all teens and you get the gist of what these thieves can do almost effortlessly. The main character, despite this outrageous upbringing, is sheltered from normal teen life and wishes to take a step back from the family business to experience normality. But before she can enact her plan, her mother is kidnapped when a heist goes wrong and Ross must pay the ransom or her mom will die. The sum is so large that Ross determines that the only way she can save her mom is to enter and win the thieve’s gambit. Then her wish will be to save her mom. There’s plenty of action, some silliness, and a touch of romance along with double crosses and danger along the way.
