“Pity those who don't feel anything at all.”
I really don't know what to think of this book. I enjoyed some parts of it, while I found other parts to be boring, so they dragged on. I can see where the Beauty and the Beast retelling inspiration comes from, but this is a very loose adaptation of that. I am interested in seeing where the story is going to go from here. Also, the ending was wild, and I was not expecting that at all.
Now onto spoilers...
The scenes were a bit... weird. There were a few, and I know there's going to be more, and I'm scared. Anyways, I know that Rhysand and Feyre will end up together. I can tell from the sprinkles that they put in this book. But in order to do that, Tamlin is going to be degraded. I don't know how to feel about that. I don't like Rhysand as a character, but he's intriguing to me as a villain... I know we're going to find out more about him in the second book. I just want to know why he was being a jerk in this book. The things he did... are very ick. Also, the riddle was quite dumb in my opinion. I didn't understand it at all, until the solution was revealed... and I just thought... that's dumb. The 'power of love'... hahaha. Also, the ending was brutal. I was not expecting Feyre to die like that... it was kind of like A Curse So Dark and Lonely (which is ironically also a Beauty and the Beast retelling but a lot more like Beauty and the Beast), and I wasn't expecting her to kill people either! And Amarantha, I wasn't expecting her to die in the first book! It makes me wonder who the main antagonist for the next book, and the rest of the series is...
Anyways, I'm excited to see where the story goes!!
