The Antagonists: Book One by Burgandi Rakoska

3.0

This book could be amazing. As it stands, it is really good! I love Minerva and Victor. The book just feels too bare bones, though. The writing needs a lot of editing (so, so many adverbs and a more than abundant use of exclamation points). The book could also use a little more fleshing out, of characters and the world.

I look forward to the next books, as I've seen others say the writing gets better. Like I said, I love Minerva, she's wonderful, and Victor's a delight. I want to learn more about them and the other characters. There's a lot of questions left unanswered at the end of the first book, after all. But I love the idea of the Brotherhood of Merlin and how Victor and his brothers have been around and done so much throughout time. I really hope the writing improves and the characters get rounded out more in the future books.
