Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
3.0

While I did not adore this book, I enjoyed it much more than the other Dickens novel I've read, Great Expectations. I felt that the narrative of this story was more engaging, but I definitely felt that the story could've been abridged. The social commentary in this novel is very profound for the time, but also, unfortunately, still rings true for our present day society. I fail to provide more commentary on what I like or disliked on this novel because I just always seem to lack engagement when a read a Dickens novel; however, I can say that I enjoyed this one more than Great Expectations, but that's also not saying much for me.
