This is by far the best depiction of BDSM relationships that I've experienced in any form of media. It handles sexuality in a mature and realistic way, without overdoing it or oversaturating it. It manages to remain earnest and genuine, never devolving into pure smut while still remaining titillatingly sexy. The characters are superbly written and feel extremely real, from their rampant over-analyzing thoughts to their anxieties and fears. Stjepan Šejić's writing is surprisingly good (this is my first exposure to his work). He has a way with words that feels casual and accessible, and yet poetic and alluring.
The same descriptors could apply to his incredible art. His line work is clean and expressive, his coloring is vivid and realistic, and his page layouts are clever and creative. But what really sells the series for me are the genuine body language and facial expressions.
This is a one-of-a-kind work of art, and I would highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in BDSM. Even if you are just curious and want a glimpse into an alternative lifestyle that isn't for you, this is a good primer.
