Veil of Shadows by Krista Street

4.0

This book is where the majority of the actual *plot/action* happened and, as such, was a fast paced and easy read.

I thought the story unfolded well and was immersive.

The romance was also fun and progressed naturally.
I feel like every mated fates book has the *reveal* chapter where he tells her how long he's known. But this one was done so well. He revealed that he knew before they even met, but he wanted to know her. And he wanted her to know him. They fell in love not just because of the bond.

It was fun to watch his friends mess with him. And watching the FMC struggle with figuring everything out felt natural. And of course, who doesn't love a
fake dating
trope?
