The Klingon Gambit by Robert E. Vardeman

2.0

Eh. 2.5 stars if I had the option. A lot of dull seesawing of the same tired plot point, no discernible effect on the captain (which could have been interesting) from the ~mysterious~ alien element, out of character dialogue even before said effect ever appeared, and just an overall blahness of content.

Within a few chapters, I just wanted to get through this one because I knew it wasn't going to be memorable. The very final page of the book had an interesting little twist, but not nearly enough to make up for the rest of the ho hum read.

I say again: Eh.
