wow.
listen, i only knew the concept of this book going into it, that it was the story of three girls that got stood up at valentine’s day by the same guy and i was intrigued.
oh boy little did i know what was coming for me.

i hit the 50% mark and i was like “okay this book is good, i like the characters but it’s nothing ‘wow’ “. well karma really said “HA HA oh really? just you wait”

this was a story of three women, three completely different women, with different personalities, different fears and anxieties, different backgrounds. this book tells us about them, their lives, their families, their past and then how they changed the life of this man.

i loved siobhan, her personality, her independence, her quick temper, but most of all the way she cared deeply for others, the way she let herself be taken care of, the way little by little she fought the constant necessity to be in control,
that despite her past experiences she learned to love again and let somebody completely in. loved loved loved her growth and was so happy for her i just wanted to give her a hug.

miranda, my love. the woman in a male dominated field, that never let it take her down. the one who worries too much, overthinks too much and just needed someone who understood her completely and let her in 100%. and eventually she got it and i couldn’t be happier, they were such a good match. i really liked his character.
loved the sister dynamic that we got, really liked the twins and their personalities.

jane. the bookworm, always-sticking-to-a-routine type of girl, insecure and someone who thinks first with her head then with her heart because it’s “safer”. i wanted to give her so many hugs, because same.
one of my favorite scenes in the book was when joseph said “books are my happy place” and she immediately smiled and relaxed because she felt seen and found someone who finally understood her.
i LOVED her relationship with Aggie, loved their dynamic, how it started and the huge impact it had on jane, i was so happy.
jane had a bad and complicated past and i loved seeing how she opened up and let other people see her for what she really was and shared what she had been going through, especially in the end how she got the courage to stand up for herself and tell her truth. the ending made me so happy, i was thrilled she finally got what she deserved.

joseph, man, i was a “bit” judgy in the beginning -i told him to fuck off a couple of times- but i think that was the whole point. once i found out, i couldn’t stop crying so i guess that was the payback. the ending made me cry even harder because it was so beautiful. it made me so happy to see how much he had healed and grown, becoming him again and being able to love someone 100%  without feeling any type of remorse.
i can’t put into words how perfect the ending was

balled my eyes out, an amazing read that explores grief, self discovery and love.
