I remember reading this series 20 years ago and loving it, but not finishing it. So I decided I would give it a go several years afterward and read it all, but that first novel... it fell flat. I found the characteres and situations charicaturedn like the author wanted absolutely to write a British whodunit and used every cliché available.
It's readable, though. I'll re-read the next in the series and decide if I continue it or not...
One good point : the anecdotes about the names of British pubs, entertaining !
