I'm sorry but I can't do it. I'm halfway through and unwilling to stop because I do want to know where this is going in spite of its narrative shortcomings, but that damn voice actress!! Or is it the director?? Who let her spend the whole book narrating like that???!!! It's so so so annoying and it's taking me out of the actual fucking plot because of how terribly acted the whole thing is. She keeps speaking in a falsetto voice that doesn't match the character nor the actions and is making a complex woman trying to find her way sound like a total constant bitch. I just can't.
Unfortunately I cannot read right now and audiobooks are my sole medium so I think I'll just pause this and (remember, they are having a picnic at a lake and currently kind of undressing to swim) hopefully be able to come back to it in print format in the future.
What a fucking waste.
