The back third of this worked a lot better than the first two thirds. I have not enjoyed the main characters narration style and the first half of the book could’ve been edited down to get to the meat a whole lot faster. With an ending that “worked” better than expected. It was a lot of filler to get to that point. And the interstitial investigation pages between the chapters was more an annoyance than the slasher papers in the first novel. If I were to read this again…I’d skip straight through them to just continue the narrative.
