Genocide of One by Kazuaki Takano

5.0

It was reported that a new life form has appeared deep in the jungles of Congo. A special forces soldier along with other specially chosen elite mercenaries were sent on a mission to eliminate this mysterious enemy who poses a threat and could potentially lead to the extinction of modern humans. Everyone eventually realizes though that they are no match for this new being that possesses beyond human intelligence. What will they do then?

This book is not talked about enough! It's a great mix of military action, scientific theories, and discussion on the psychology of man. Many interesting concepts about biology, chemistry, politics, economy, evolution, survival, etc., are woven neatly into this well-thought-out thriller. There's always tension and there are different sub-stories brought together bit by bit adding to a lot of stunning moments. Sooo good!
