Gone to See the River Man by Kristopher Triana

5.0

And I have suddenly become a Triana fan. This is my first book by this author, and it won't be my last. This is also technically my first extreme horror, splatterpunk book. It won't be my last of that genre either.

This was one visceral, raw, horrific, epic journey I just went on and I'm left feeling satisfied but exhausted at the end. The characters in this were deeply disturbed, so you won't be attaching yourself to very many of them (or any of them), but that's okay. If you have a morbid fascination for those kinds of characters, you'll be just fine to gape and cringe through their decisions like I did.

If you can't handle disturbing content, characters and atmosphere, then here's your warning. Me, personally, I have a psychological fascination in reading about characters like this and picking them apart. And you know I did throughout this entire book, I just can't say anything here without it being spoilers.

There's a sequel to this book, and you know I'll be jumping on it soon to see how this continues!
