Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews

I really wasn’t sure what to expect out of this family thriller written for a prepubescent audience. The prose wasn’t all that terrible, but the god awful dialogue killed what enjoyment could be gleaned from it. I can see where and why Gillian Flynn found inspiration in it, but overall its just a badly written story. It doesn’t feel fair to rate it so I won’t. Also, Maggie Stiefvater was right: this isn’t “the incest book,” its “the sexual assault book.”
