Sweet Nightmare
by Tracy Wolff
consistency is usually regarded as a good quality. something to strive towards. and so it is with this book -tracy wolff can not be accused of not being consistent cuz she- was consistently bad. without a doubt a byproduct of high school teachers constantly whinging that ‘less is not more’ and word count minimums. from the first paragraph on the first page. to the last paragraph on the last page. wolff misused, overused, and abused one of the most sacred of literary devices. interrupters and parentheticals. nella larsen she is not. but to be fair no one is. now, of course, i am not her target audience and this *style* of writing is very much in vogue. just like vertical videos. nonetheless, it is a great shame that such derivative writing is consumed en masse.
