Can't remember the last time a book left this uncomfortable reading it in public transportation, in fear the person beside me might sneak a peek and read whichever sentence they laid eyes upon first. It's shockingly depraved, in parts, but in that fascinating way that keeps eyes glued to the page.
What wonderful prose. It has no paragraphs, and sentences linger on throughout entire pages. Maybe the only book that has ever made me wonder how it would sound in audiobook form - the rhythm is amazing, feels like you're being enthusiastically told a story, but one that you wish no one else is able to hear.
