As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who Was Raised as a Girl
by John Colapinto
I read this on the beach but it was decidedly not a "beach book."
I applaud David Reimer for sharing his story, and hope that it does effectively inspire change in how children with damaged or ambiguous genitals are raised.
I think this will be perfect for book club because it overlaps a lot of things we've touched upon in the past - variations or discrepancies in psychological diagnoses; research at Johns Hopkins; and I'm even going to wager sociopathy, but I'll see what the others think.
