Watership Down by Richard Adams

I was kind of surprised by how good this book was. Like for a book about rabbits, the story was incredibly rich and complex. It actually deals with some complex social issues and everything.
On the other hand, it is incredibly violent and borderline gore for something that I kind of thought was a children's book. Like some of the rabbit battles go into rather bloody detail. And are petty bloody for battles involving bunnies.
