I started this, and then went back to read Huckleberry Finn again to give me a more informed view: I was relieved that the ending was different, because I couldn’t imagine how Jim/James would be able to stand Tom Sawyer’s shenanigans in the original version. The book was beautifully written, the content was a tough but important read.
