The Cruellest Month
by Louise Penny
I often find myself wanting to visit Three Pines while listening to or reading Louise Penny's novels. She's such an immersive writer that it feels as though maybe I've been there before, that the characters are friends from another lifetime. It almost seems possible when realizing it would only be a few hours drive from here. In this one I was particularly struck by the weather similarities to the current weather conditions where I live, over the same days surrounding Easter. Our early flowers are up, bracing themselves for what's coming.
