The Last Widow by Karin Slaughter

4.0

Karin Slaughter writes... moderately violent whodunits set in and around Atlanta, Georgia.

In this book, a scientist for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is kidnapped. Will Trent (A GBI investigator), and his girlfriend, Sara Linton (a medical expert), become accidentally involved, when they witness a car accident, and start investigating who kidnapped the scientist, and why they might want her.

Every so often, Slaughter's books use bad guys who are down right... unpleasant. If you're triggered by racist themes, you might not like this book, as what Trent and Linton discover... isn't very nice? For people who can overcome this, the book is a pretty easy read, that rattles along at a decent clip. It's not the most profound book in the world, and can feel a little... ripped from the headlines, but the author handles the storylines well.

I think most people will enjoy it.
