The Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks
5.0
This is //so good// oh my gosh
The art is lovely and super expressive, the characters feel so real and their relationships develop so naturally, the concepts are interesting and complex (instead of just throwing out one obvious "bad guy"), and ahhhHHHH it's just wonderful i love it so much
(If you like Avatar: the Last Airbender, definitely check this out. It has a really similar feel to it, both with the world-building and character designs and the mature, well-thought-out themes. It's great)
(ALSO even though it's technically the first in a series (which i am //so excited// about) it stands really well on its own, so like it's open to continuation but you aren't left with any real frustrating cliffhangers or loose ends if you only want to read this one)
(basically pls read it)
