Wow.

My heart feels so heavy after finishing this epic finale of the Legacy of Orïsha series.

No adequate words will describe my love for my book, but I will try.

The fast-paced writing in this due to the jaw dropping cliff hanger we had in the previous book made this amazing. The new environment and atmosphere we had in this and also new characters and conflict was great.

This may be the saddest one in the series and also the one with the most death. You could feel the death of everyone in this book hanging onto Zélie, Tzain, Amari, and Inan in this. I liked that we got all their POVs in this.

As always, the diversity we got in this was great. I liked the casual queer rep we saw and the sibling relationships are always near and dear to my heart.
Mae’e and Amari were so cute. My heart lowkey broke for Tzain but no they were everything to me. Sorry Tzain. 😭😭

You could truly feel the love that Tzain and Zélie have for one another after losing so many people. It just makes them hang on to each other that much harder.

I think that goes for everyone in this book really. There’s lots of death and grief going on. Violence, blood, gore. The writing is so amazing, you could really feel like you’re in the story with the characters.

I was on edge for about 99% of this book. I was screaming, crying, stressing OUT over this book. I would read it all over again though.

The only thing I will say about this is that one of my favorite characters throughout this series didn’t really get a proper ending, but I suppose that’s okay. I will just be wondering about them for all eternity.

ROËN MY BELOVED I MISS YOU AND WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. I HOPE YOURE ALIVE YOU DUMB MERCANARIE. I HOPE YOURE HAPPY. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE U ON MY MIND, I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT. Also, I hope he ended up getting with Zélie because HE WAS IN LOVE WITH HER.

One of the characters mentions them in a very brief way, so you can kind of conclude for yourself where they ended up, but still. I just wanted to see more of them to say a proper goodbye.

Overall, this book was amazing and once again, rich in history. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone.
