Carving for Cara by Dana LeeAnn, Melissa McSherry

4.0

If you're looking for a quick read to get your stalker fix, this is the book for you! It's got a terrific balance of dark romance, spice, and horror. Although getting to the spice required a little time, it was well worth it once you did. With all the references to fall in it, this novel is ideal for Halloween, which is just around the corner. The entire time, I was intrigued. Watching to see what our MMC would do next had me on the edge of my seat. I was there to see Rhett's impressive creativity (if you know what I mean). I was won over by his gift for Cara and his use of the corn. This novella was enjoyable, but it felt like it finished too abruptly. If there was to be a second novella or a full-length book, I would adore to watch the tale go on.

“Most people in my small town of Hallow Grove, Iowa, are superstitious and fearful of the devil, but after reading one too many dark romance novels, I’m reasonably certain he’d fuck like a god.”
