Exit West by Mohsin Hamid

adventurous dark slow-paced

3.75

I was engaged with the dynamic between Nadia and Sareed, but the addition of a number of small stories that seemed to be dropped out of nowhere made the novel feel disjointed. With a little digging, the author could've really fleshed out all the emotions and pain of the immigrant story, but in this case it feels too shallow. The addition of the doors seems to retract from the story rather than add and made me feel like the beginning of the book, which I enjoyed, was separate from the second half.
