We Were Liars

dark
emotional
reflective
sad
I remember when this book was first published and advertised everywhere. I never got around to reading it back then but I wish I had. I feel like I would’ve loved it even more as a teenager.
I liked the style and the short chapters and the way the fragmented narrative reflects Cadence’samnesia and trauma
I think the plot twist was executed really well. Evokes pathos towards the end and probably even more so throughout on a reread. Immediately after finishing I flipped back to the front page and reread certain extracts
