Enjoyable, if albeit slow at times. Great debut with Indigenous celebrations and folklore intertwined. Definitely not what I expected going into it. If you are looking for battle and war or use of dragon powers - then don't pick this up. I would market this more of a coming of age story and lots of world building with more of an academic setting.

This wasn't necessarily a favorite of mine personally, but I will continue to read the series.
