Beautiful, beautiful book. I read Backman's Anxious People before this one, and I liked it, but I love this one a whole lot better. Britt-Marie's character arc was slow but sure. I loved Vega, Sami, Toad, Omar, Ben, Sven, Kent, Bank, and Karl! I felt myself having soft spots for all the characters in this book. The writing style is witty and sort of dark (where Britt-Marie is fussing over the unemployment center girl's lack of a coaster and the cup creating marks and the comparison to when she's sitting in bed crying in a towel so it doesn't create marks on the floor is masterful writing and I think it encapsulates her character and her
grief for Ingrid so well).
I would recommend this. I love how Britt-Marie learns to decide something for herself at the end. This was a great (second?) book to start the year 2022 with.
